This is my first progress post. I am turning a water fountain into a desert oasis. I have made the background sand dunes, and i/m coloring the fountain itself right now. after this I plan to turn the fountain part where the water goes into the pool of the oasis and have plants and stuff of that nature around it.
I have heard you explain to me before that you are turning this into an oasis. I am very excited to see how it works out! Can you explain a little more how you plan to do this (merge the fountain into the background/theme)? I just haven't fully seen it/understand it yet and I'm interested in your idea.
So far, the shading in of the object and the highlight points are looking awesome! I like the central light source making the metallic surfaces pop. A suggestion I would add is to possibly find an image of the desert a bit more up close and less pushed back to better mesh the object and background, as right now it looks sort of like it is floating far above the desert from perspective.
That background image tracing looks magnificent! I believe those are gradients you are using on the water fountain itself (correct me if I'm wrong) and I they look sleek, which is great. Beautiful reflection coming through. I'm imagining your overall idea and I love it. I can't wait to see what it looks like upon completion.
